Media Center Items are shown at http://gk-capital.com/category/media-center. It provides a collection of news items selected for display by GKC.
Adding a Media Center Item
To add a new Media Center Item, follow the instructions below:
1. Click on the ‘Posts’ menu in the admin sidebar
This will open the ‘Posts’ listing page. From here, press the ‘Add New’ button:
2. Enter the details of the Post
On the ‘Add New Post’ page, shown below, enter the title of the Post in the field labeled ‘Enter title here’.
Enter the text for the Post in the large text area below the title field.
3. Set the Featured Image
The Featured Image is the large image that is shown above the text of a Post.
To set the featured image, in the section labeled ‘Featured Image’ on the right side of the page, click ‘Set featured image’.
A pop-up window titled ‘Insert Media’ should now appear:
Next, click the ‘Upload Files’ tab near the top of the window.
You should now see the file upload dialog shown below:
Click on the ‘Select Files’ button to choose the image file from your computer. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the file anywhere on the pop-up window.
Click the blue ‘Set featured image’ button to the bottom right.
The file will now be uploaded to the website.
4. Select a Category
In the section labeled ‘Categories’ (usually under ‘Featured Image’), select ‘Media Center’.
This will change the content from a regular Post to one that will be displayed in the Media Center.
5. Save and publish the Post
In the section labeled ‘Publish’ (usually on the top-right of the page), click the blue ‘Publish’ button to save and publish the Post – pictured below. Alternatively, you may click the ‘Save Draft’ button to save the Post without publishing it.
Editing a Media Center Item
To edit a Media Center Item, open the Post listing page (see part 1 above).
From there, with the mouse cursor hover over the Media Center Item which you intend to edit, then click the ‘Edit’ link which appears.
Then, simply follow the same instructions given above for adding a new Media Center Item.
